Thinking about taking a Europe Road Trip?
One of my lifelong dreams has always been to live in a van. Whether it be for a week, a month, or a year, it never mattered to me how long… just so long as I got to do it one day. Lucky for me, dreams actually do come true and in October of last year, I happened to meet the guys from Balkan Campers on my trip through Eastern Europe. This company is a bunch of laid-back wanderlusters out of Ljubljana, Slovenia who find beat up VW vans, refurbish them, and then rent them out to people like me. It was a crazy ordeal driving manual for the first time through foreign countries with no set itinerary. Each day brought more adventure than the last, and it was fun as hell, this was certainly a trip I will never forget.
However, between all the “oh shit” moments on the road, came an unprecedented amount of natural beauty that I’ve never seen before in my lifetime. Instead of spending time in cities, #vanlife brought me off the beaten path where I spent most of my time on the back roads through Slovenia, in the mountains of Austria, and in the national parks of Italy.
If it weren’t for the insane, indescribable natural features during this trip, I wouldn’t be here now trying to convince you to do something like this yourself. But here I am, banging my keyboard with excitement because this was by far the most eye-popping, heart-thumping, insane journey I’ve ever taken.
